Presentation: Inclusive Gifted Education
Room P10
The Queensland department of education has an inclusive education policy, yet inclusive education is contested without a universally accepted definition, theory, or model of practice (Borders, et al., 2014; Slee, 2018; Jarvis, et al., 2020).
Gifted students are often missing from the inclusive education literature as the focus historically, has tended to be on students with disabilities (Joubert & Harrington, 2019; Smith, 2006) and this proposed Doctoral research seeks to address that gap in the literature with the question, what model of inclusive whole school approach includes talent development for the diversity of students who are gifted?
